To love Seattle is to love the amazing group of people who make up the city. So we suggested Redhook raise the proverbial glass to some of Seattle’s special brand of heroes.
Researching who these people were was my favorite part of this project. Crowd-sourcing suggestions from Seattle-ites themselves, we wanted to make sure these were truly the kind of icons that locals know. We all know the Space Needle, but you might only know The Fremont Troll if you’ve done some time in the Emerald City.
It was nearly impossible to narrow it down, but we were proud and pretty damn stoked to get these three heros. Phoenix Jones, real-life superhero and MMA fighter; Matthew Inman from the brilliant webcomic The Oatmeal and early punk rock icon and mainstay of Seattle’s Teatro Zinzanni, El Vez.
